What the drive is like
The ride takes the Route 27 toll highway out of the Central Valley, drops toward the Pacific at Orotina and joins the Costanera south to Jacó. It is the smoothest, fastest route to any beach town from SJO.
A classic stop is the Tárcoles River bridge to see the crocodiles from the lookout — a 10–15 minute stop, easy to include if you ask.
Door-to-door time is about 1.5 hours in normal traffic, closer to 2 at peak times. Tolls are handled by your driver.
